Grammy-nominated Slowthai due in Oxford Crown Court to face rape allegations
The rapper recently pleaded not guilty to two charges of rape.
Rapper Slowthai, 29, is set to appear at Oxford Crown Court on the 25th of November to face two counts of rape.
The artist, real name Tyron Frampton, was accused of raping a woman twice on the 8th of September 2021, following his performance at The Bullingdon on the evening of the 7th.
First appearing at Oxford Magistrates Court on May 16th last year, he was charged with both oral and vaginal penetration of a woman without her consent.
His co-defendant, Alex Blake-Walker of Wallbutton Road, south London, has been accused of sexually assaulting the woman in the same incident. Blake-Walker is also accused of raping and sexually assaulting a second alleged victim.
Both defendants denied all charges brought against them.
Judge Michael Gledhill KC released the two defendants on conditional bail until their trial.
Further proceedings were due to take place at Oxford Crown Court on July 1st, however, they have since been delayed for unknown circumstances. A new date has been scheduled for November 25th.
After news of the initial hearing broke last year, Frampton issued a public response stating: “Regarding the allegations being reported about me. I categorically deny the charges. I am innocent and I am confident my name will be cleared.
“I ask that my supporters don’t comment about this situation and respect the process and privacy of my family during this time”.
