Man sentenced to prison for sexual offences in West Oxfordshire
Police say: “It is a top priority of Thames Valley Police to tackle violence against women and girls in all its forms”
Following a hearing at Oxford Crown Court on 20 November, Connor Beesley, aged 22, of no fixed place of residence, was sentenced to three years and nine months in prison.
Police reports indicate that Beesley previously pleaded guilty to two counts of engaging in a penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged 13 to 15 at the same court in October 2023.
The offences took place in West Oxfordshire throughout the last five years and was arrested on 5 April 2022 charged on the 20 October 2023.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Samantha Hunter, of the Child Abuse Investigation Unit, said: “I would like to pay tribute to the victim in this case, as she has displayed tremendous dignity to support our investigation to bring Beesley to justice.
“The victim in this case has shown such bravery in coming forward and speaking up against the person who abused her.
“This sentence goes no way in erasing what the survivor has endured, but it means that Beesley is now in prison, which is what he deserves.”
An appeal has been shared, encouraging victims of similar crimes to speak up: “If you are a victim, or suspect someone is a victim of crime, please contact Thames Valley Police.
“We have specially trained officers who will always listen and support you.”
The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC), revealed in their post dating 31st October 2024, the impact of child sexual abuse in a quote from a victim: "I do not feel safe at home as my stepbrother has been touching me inappropriately for many years. I've been self-harming, and I feel clueless: I don't want to die but I am scared to keep living."
