More awards for Oxfordshire’s eco-friendly housing project
An eco-friendly housing project has won an innovation award at the Oxford Climate Awards.
The Hook Norton Community Land Trust took the top prize at the awards last month, following their previous success at the Inside Housing Magazine, where they won best affordable housing development.
“Being acknowledged by our peers and the people we serve reminds us why we started this project in the first place.”
Grant Appleton, Chairman of the trust
The new project saw the creation of 12 sustainable and affordable homes in Hook Norton and looks to set a new path for the UK housing scene, which in 2022 was responsible for 20% of the country’s greenhouse gas emissions, according to a government report.
“Our project has demonstrated that it’s possible to build affordable homes with low carbon emissions, and we believe this should be the standard going forward.”
Grant Appleton, Chairman of the trust
