Oxford United Stadium Plans Could Feature New Footbridge
New Stadium plans spark debate over transport and community Impact
Oxford United Stadium, also called the Triangle North Oxford will give a twist to visitors and fans of football. This new stadium will have a hotel with approximately 180 beds that could host people around the UK during championships, as well as offer a restaurant, gym, and conference centre. Oxford United has communicated to the public that they are making some arrangements and transport modelling to allow buses and bicycles to circulate even through match day which is causing commotion around social media, as some people say bicycles and scooters should not be permitted. The footbridge should be designated for pedestrians only.
This idea was raised since road closures affect neighbours every time there’s a match for at least 2 hours and stop them from doing their activities. Although some people think is a great idea and will make life easier for them, others believe “this bridge will be too expensive and is not a great solution”.
On the other side, some cyclists comment “I have no desire to use the bridge as Oxford has adequate roads and feel comfortable using them.”
People are showing their excitement about this new project that will contribute to the economy and offer social benefits to Oxfordshire.
New jobs will be open for students and the general public in different areas such as hospitality, maintenance, event management, and others.
This amazing all-electric stadium will be eco-friendly, enhancing green spaces that will definitely attract visitors to boost the economy and eventually be able to support charities, sports groups, schools, and colleges as this is a non-profit organisation, their focus is also to support health and wellbeing programs such as Blackbird Leys charity.
