Oxfordshire family raises over £90,000 for paralysed son
The family of Sebastian Pena, recently made tetraplegic in a diving accident, have managed to raise £90,000 so far to help him adapt to his condition.
In an update issued last Friday, the family have announced that they have now managed to raise £90,000, which means they have enough funds to begin work on adapting their house to meet Sebastian’s needs, set to begin in a week's time.
The Go Fund Me, set up on November 3rd, aims to raise money for the costs not covered by the NHS, including for house adaptations, a specialist wheelchair, physiotherapy and assistive technology.
In the update, Jelenyela Pena, Sebastian’s mother, praised all who donated saying:
“Your contributions go far beyond financial assistance—they are a lifeline for Seb’s recovery and his journey toward a brighter future.”
She emphasised that “each step brings us closer to the day Seb can return home.”
The Go Fund Me Page, which has received 530 donations so far, is still open.
