Sharp increase of flu among children
Book a vaccination appointment now
The NHS is urging anyone eligible for the flu vaccination to make their appointments by the end of November as the flu season has hit early this year.
Latest figures from the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) show the number of cases is at 8.2%, up from 2.9% this time last year. There is a sharp increase among children.
Parents should return school consent forms or arrange GP appointments for 2 -3 year olds.
Appointments and walk in sessions are available in local pharmacies, GP Practices and community clinic drop-in centres. You can find your nearest centre on the NHS website ‘Find a Pharmacy that offers free flu vaccination’. https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/vaccination-and-booking-services.
NHS teams are going above and beyond to curb this by offering vaccinations in community spaces like bowling alleys, libraries and sports halls.
