The 37th year return of Oxford's International Women's Festival
March brings a joyous celebration of the honest truth and resilience behind women’s achievements.
Founded in 1989, the Oxford International Women’s Festival has played a significant part in the Oxford community, offering a thrilling and informative programme of events that will take place in multiple venues in both the city and the broader county.
Hosted by local women, the programme will focus on not only the success that women have achieved, but also the obstacles that women have faced, including political, trade union, and employment rights. Exhibitions and workshops will feature topical talks and performances.
The programme typically runs for two weeks in March, and is the perfect chance to connect, share stories, and be inspired in a welcoming atmosphere. There will be something for everyone to get involved with!
Below is a list of some of the events taking place:
Saturday 1st March, 11am – 4pm: ‘All about her day:’ A day to celebrate women, with lots of music, dance, food, and creative workshops.
Tuesday 4th March, 5:30pm: ‘Dorothy Hodgkin memorial lecture.’ This lecture commemorates 80 years since Dorothy Hodgkin’s revolutionary determination of Penicillin’s structure.
