Two luxury powerhouses, one Oxford stage
Behind the curtain of high fashion’s most influential brands
A joint careers panel with the Oxford Fashion Society and Oxford Marketing Society is set to host one of its biggest events of the term on 20 November, from 17:30 to 19:00 at Mansfield College’s Mansfield Auditorium.
Students will hear from Blake Harrop, former Executive Vice President of Image and Communications at Louis Vuitton, and Simon Jones, the current Chief Marketing Officer at Mulberry.
Harrop, appointed to Louis Vuitton’s top communications role in May 2024, has recently been in international headlines as LVMH faces renewed scrutiny over the performance of its US manufacturing expansion. His perspective arrives at a moment when luxury brands are balancing heritage identity with modern production challenges.
Simon is one of Britain’s most experienced luxury marketing executives. As Mulberry’s CMO, he guides the brand’s creative direction, sustainability messaging, and market positioning during a period of reinvention for the heritage label. Previously at Burberry, Simon contributed to the development of the brand’s digital-first campaigns that reshaped its global image. His expertise spans storytelling, consumer culture, and British luxury brands adapting to shifting markets.
Together, they will offer insight into brand storytelling, global fashion communications, and how luxury houses navigate shifting market expectations.
With tickets priced at £2, organisers expect strong interest from students seeking guidance on breaking into fashion marketing, brand strategy, and the wider creative industries.
