Ugandan High Court judge awaiting trail in Oxford on modern slavery charges

Uganda’s chief justice, Alfonso Owinyi-Dollo is in talks with the United Kingdom government authorities concerning allegations of modern slavery against high court judge Lydia Mugambe.
The government of Uganda has pledged to provide necessary support for Mugambe the high court who is currently in custody
According to Thames Valley Police, Mugambe aged 49, of Lyne Road, Kidlington was charged with one count of conspiring to do an act to facilitate the commission of a breach of UK Immigration law by a non-UK national, one count of arranging travel of another person to perform forced or compulsory labour.
Mugambe’s trial is scheduled to take place on the 10th of February 2025 at Oxford Crown Court with proceeding expected to last three weeks.
According to reports Mugambe was pursuing further education at the time of her arrest.
